- When I took the Hotel Matchmaker test these are the words I selected:
- Adventurous/active, Healthy/sporty, Traditional, Mature/discreet, Sensible/practical
- My favorite activities include:
- Walking, bicycling, tennis, attending the theater, volunteering at community events.
- I was born and raised in:
- Russian Hill
- I currently live:
- Russian Hill
- What do I do to make a buck?:
- I am 64 and lucky enough not to have to work hard anymore. I occasionally proctor for student exams and participate in focus groups. Instead of working "to make a buck" I spend time doing volunteer work, including helping the Friends of the Library with their book sales and ushering at the Opera House and other theatres.
- 5 things I love about the San Francisco Bay Area:
- It is a walkable city with interesting blocks and short distances
- The diversity – people from different countries, speaking many different languages on the street
- In winter finding good skiing within an easy drive
- Unique neighborhoods with interesting small shops
- Generally liberal attitudes of most people
- My favorite local hidden treasure you shouldn't miss:
- San Francisco Art Institute (800 Chestnut Street) with its peaceful entrance courtyard, a Diego Rivera mural, view terraces, and a cafe on the back deck.
- My perfect day spent in the San Francisco Bay Area:
- My perfect day spent in the San Francisco Bay Area: To begin with a lazy morning – Chronicle and coffee on my balcony (this would be a lovely sunny day, of course). Then before I get too relaxed, I would like to meet a friend for tennis on the Alice Marble Courts. Win or lose, I would deserve a good lunch at the outdoor café in the Asian Art Museum followed by a visit to the current show there.
- By about 5, I would head to the Commonwealth Club for a glass of wine which usually precedes a lecture by an interesting speaker. For dinner I hope my partner would choose a restaurant and surprise me. If still early enough, we could always find a good movie at one of the Embarcadero Center cinemas.
