Ingrid Summerfield
President
Ingrid has over 25 years in the hospitality industry, including 14 years with Joie de Vivre. Aside from her knowledge of the hospitality industry, she has solid experience in luxury residential multi and corporate housing.
As President, Ingrid oversees the company’s operations, food & beverage, people services, sales and marketing, revenue management, spa, and information technology departments. This year, she will add several more hotels and restaurants to her resume as Joie de Vivre continues its pursuit of the most aggressive expansion plan in the company’s history.
During her initial time with Joie de Vivre, Ingrid became the General Manager of the Commodore Hotel and the Maxwell Hotel, respectively. Her abilities to multi-task and groom boutique hotels for success garnered her the role of Managing Director, initially overseeing the company’s Union Square properties. Shortly thereafter, Ingrid became Senior Vice President and was responsible for the repositioning and operations of all new hotel projects in California. Remodels and launches under Ingrid’s supervision in San Francisco include the Hotel Adagio, Hotel Carlton, Hotel Kabuki, Hotel Tomo, the Galleria Park Hotel, the hugely successful Hotel Angeleno in Los Angeles, and many more.
Ingrid is proud to be an active member of the community and has held various positions on the boards of the Hotel Council, Union Square Association, the SF Local Homeless Coordinating Board, Goodwill Industries, and Quest for Dignity. She also spent extra hours to earn her BA in Journalism from San Francisco State University. For the past ten years, she has been the West Coast Alumni President for Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne. Ingrid is fluent in three languages, and loves to travel to see new lands and meet new people.
