Rick Patten
Regional Vice President of Operations,
Southern California

Rick has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has managed hotels in Los Angeles, Lake Tahoe, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco.

As Vice President of Operations in Southern California, Rick oversees Joie de Vivre’s properties in the Los Angeles region, as well as leading a regional team of managers and Directors in the hotels’ Accounting, People Services, Sales, and Revenue Management departments.

Rick joined Joie de Vivre in 1995 and has managed the Phoenix Hotel, Commodore Hotel, and Hotel Rex in San Francisco. In 2005 he returned to his native Los Angeles to launch Joie de Vivre’s first southern California property, the Hotel Angeleno. Rick has extensive experience in hotel renovations and repositioning newly renovated hotels, which is well suited for Joie de Vivre’s growth strategy.

Rick earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology from California State University, Long Beach.
