Civic Center, a Tribute to the People of the Bay Area
An introduction to San Francisco and the people of this special community starts with a tour through the Civic Center district of San Francisco. Located in the southern end of the city center, the Civic Center starts on the corner of Eddy and Larkin Streets.
The Civic Center is home to government and the arts. You'll find the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, the State Court House, beautiful San Francisco Public Library, and of course City Hall. For world class performances going on throughout the season visit the box offices at the War Memorial Opera House, the San Francisco Symphony and Ballet, and the new Asian Art Museum. For a real treat any sunny afternoon, have a picnic on the plaza grounds against the backdrop of the splendid Beaux Arts Architecture of City Hall.
Joie de Vivre Hotels proudly presents a unique Civic Center hotel, the landmark Phoenix Hotel, celebrating its 20th year of being San Francisco's world-renowned "rock 'n roll hotel."
