The Berkeley Bowl is a mainstay for local gourmands in Oakland and Berkeley. It first opened in 1977 as a small neighborhood market and then in 1999 moved into a 40,000 sq. foot renovated former Safeway. The specialty has always been produce and they have a selection that is second to none.
