In 2004, the San Francisco Museum of Craft+Design opened its doors to interpret the role of craft and design in contemporary society. All of the exhibitions are designed not only to showcase the art of craft and design, but also to educate people on its importance in our lives. By developing and hosting innovative exhibitions and creating a vital program of education and community outreach, we celebrate an art form that not only enriches our physical spaces, but also helps to tell us something about ourselves. The Museum is open six days a week, and is closed on Mondays. A $3 donation is suggested for adults, and $2 for students and seniors. The Museum is free to all on the first Thursday evening of every month, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
