Participative Culture

Letting all voices be heard is as much a priority as listening to take action at Joie de Vivre Hotels. The Joie de Vivre Hotels culture has numerous programs that foster two-way communications between management and all levels of employees.

Twice annually, Joie de Vivre Hotels employees have an opportunity to complete a work climate survey. Participation in work climate surveys is encouraged and the response rate is typically high. The survey is used to check the pulse of the Joie de Vivre Hotels Heart, drive employee satisfaction and ultimately profitability. Results from the work climate survey are discussed with actionable planning at service retreats. The retreats invite "break the rules" conversations where respect for each other's input is the only rule.

Joie de Vivre Hotels . . . People Matter Here!

"I feel I have found my place in the sun after working here."

Chip Conley and the Executive Team are never far -- just a phone call, email or personal visit away. We all practice a committed open door policy. Some employees also catch up with Chip via his weekly column, 'Chip's Chat', or during the quarterly Dinner with the CEO, when all types of topics from company strategy to service stories are shared.
