Joie De Vivre Hospitality Appoints Linda Palermo As Chief Revenue Officer
San Francisco, August 1, 2007 - Joie de Vivre Hospitality, long known for creating experiential, one-of-a-kind boutique hotel concepts, is now bringing a greater business focus and organization to its properties, creating a cohesive outlook for the goals and vision of its properties. The company appointed hospitality veteran, Linda Palermo, to the strategic position of Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, Palermo will be responsible for overseeing all revenue-generating departments of the company, including sales, revenue management and marketing.
“I am very excited about the chance to develop and expand these revenue-generating departments for Joie de Vivre Hospitality,” says Palermo. “This is such a dynamic company, creating such distinctive hotel experiences. The opportunity to join them in bringing a sense of cohesiveness to the next level is tremendous.”
Palermo brings to this new role her 20-plus years of operations and sales experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Joie de Vivre Hospitality, she was Regional Director of Sales for TravelCLICK’s Western North America division, where she led a team responsible for generating Western North America revenues and worked with brands, management companies, hotels, and owners to drive additional profit through growing and shifting business to electronic distribution channels. Before then, Palermo spent over six years based at InterContinental Hotels’ Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco as the company’s western regional director of sales and marketing. In this position, she oversaw sales, marketing, revenue management, and catering and conference services for the Mark Hopkins and eight managed/owned Crowne Plaza Hotels. Palermo also brings her experience as Vice President of Human Resources for The Flatley Company’s Tara Hotels in Braintree, MA. Palermo, a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, started her hospitality career with Hyatt Hotels in 1988 and has worked for Hyatt Hotels and Le Meridien Hotels in addition to InterContinental Hotels and TravelCLICK.
“Welcoming Linda to Joie de Vivre is, in a way, a celebration of a new era for our company,” said CEO Chip Conley. “With our rapid expansion, we know it has become critical to build a more strategic focus across our businesses. Linda’s skills and experience make her ideal to help us succeed.”
