Joie de Vivre Launches "Tax Relief for Californians" campaign
Pledges to Pay Occupancy Tax for CA Residents on Stays through Tax Day 2009
San Francisco, October 23, 2008 -Joie de Vivre, California's largest boutique hotel collection, kicks off a "Tax Relief for Californians" campaign today. Through April 15, 2009, Joie de Vivre will take the tax bite out of state residents' hotel bills by paying their occupancy tax on stays at any of its 30 Joie de Vivre hotels.
The "Tax Relief for Californians" offer is valid for California residents only and must be booked in advance online at http://www.jdvhotels.com or by calling 800.738.7477.
"There are about 38 million Californians in the state, and close to 30 million are within a one-hour drive of a Joie de Vivre hotel," said Chip Conley, Joie de Vivre's founder and chief executive officer. "We want Californians to continue to celebrate and enjoy everything this state has to offer, so we're shouldering the [occupancy] tax burden for our guests and inviting fellow Californians to come create joy with us."
